Tips on how to use a conditioner

How to use Conditioner for Itchy Scalp & Dandruff

Dry scalp, itchy scalp and hair dandruff may be the 3 stalwarts of ruining your day with discomfort, right? When they are causing you too much trouble, who will you reach out to for help? Well, there are many ideal and possible ways but seeking the help of a hair conditioner can benefit you more.

If you don't use one, your time is now. Make sure you get yours soon!

So, what is the big deal about hair conditioners?

If you want to make your hair better in terms of its look and feel, you must have a hair conditioner in your bathroom. It also makes your scalp less prone to damage and itch, giving you some peace of mind.

Keep scrolling down as we discuss the benefits of using hair conditioner as well as how to use a conditioner.

The Uses of Hair Conditioner

  1. It softens your hair:
  2. Yes, it is definitely good to use a shampoo for your hair, but if you don't use a hair conditioner after shampooing, your hair will miss that final sparkle it deserves. Shampoos are perfect but the conditioner is what gives a final touch of perfection to your hair.

Without conditioners, your hair can be a little rough. Try using the conditioner and experience your hair become as soft as a feather.

Although shampoos work hard to remove all the impurities and give you smooth hair, it is really in need of a conditioner's support to achieve flawless hair.

So, now you know what to do. In order to get soft and smooth hair, make sure you use a conditioner after shampooing.

  3. It detangles the tangles:
  4. Hair tangles can be a serious pain and irritation for many. We know and we empathize with you which is why we suggest you to use a conditioner for your hair, so that you can set yourself free from the annoyance of tangles.

After your hair gets cleansed, it becomes dry and rough, making your hair strands entangle upon each other very quickly.

So this is where the conditioner makes an entry to play its role. When you use a hair conditioner, it detangles your hair and keeps it downwards, giving your hair a fine and smooth look.

  5. It guards the hair cuticles:
  6. Out of all the benefits, this is the most important role the conditioners play - it protects your hair cuticles.

Not sure what cuticles are? Here is a new piece of information! It is nothing but the outermost layer of the hair, which is formed from the dead cells.

When you condition your hair, you create a shield around its cuticles, protecting them from pollution and the adverse effects of heat styling tools, such as hair straighteners, hair dryers etc.

  7. It moisturizes your hair:
  8. Now that you know shampoos clean your hair and wash away the dirt, you must also know that it sometimes damages your hair cuticles. It removes the important and necessary oils from your hair and scalp, which is no good news.

This is when the conditioner needs to be used to do its magic. Using it helps in filling back the amount of moisture that has been lost, to your hair strands. Also, while this happens, your hair turns out to become stronger and you can see a reduction in hair fall, which is definitely a good news.

  9. Hassle-free styling:
  10. When you condition your hair, you make it become more soft and glossy. This will give you the freedom to style your hair easily, as per your wish.

So, for better styling, don't forget to use a conditioner for your hair.

How to use hair conditioners?

If you are not sure how to use a conditioner, it's okay, no one's perfect, right? However, we have brought you the main steps that tell you how to apply hair conditioner. Here they are:

  • After you are done with the shampoo, wash it off your hair.
  • Always rely on the amount mentioned on the conditioner bottle when you apply.
  • Make sure you spread the conditioner evenly on your hair-ends.
  • Run your fingers or a comb that has a wide tooth through the ends of your hair.
  • Leave the conditioner on your head for a minute.
  • Last of all, rinse off the conditioner thoroughly.

We made it easy for you, didn't we? Just follow these 6 steps on how to apply conditioner and have silky and shiny hair!

Leave the conditioner on, but for how long?

Well, it has to be noted that the duration differs for different kinds of conditioners.

If you are using a normal hair conditioner, you must leave it on for one minute, as mentioned above earlier.

However, that is not the case when it comes to the leave-in conditioner, as it has to be left on between one and three minutes, which makes it an average of 2 minutes.

Lastly - the deep conditioner. This one's duration is quite longer when compared to the other two. Here, you must leave it on between 10 to 30 minutes, and make sure you use it just once a week.

So, while you condition your hair, always check which type of conditioner you are using and have an eye on the instructions given on the label of the bottle.

How much conditioner should you use?

If you think you can apply how much ever conditioner you want on your head, we would like to give you an advice - don't think of it or repeat it ever again.

When it comes to using conditioners, the less is actually more. So, the lesser the amount, the better it is.

Now if you ask how much you should be using particularly, the ideal amount is 2 quarter-sized dollops, depending on the length and thickness of your hair.

Types of Conditioners

You may or may not have known that there are 3 different kinds of conditioners, having very different features. Let's jump in and explore the three!

  1. Rinse-out Conditioner:
  2. Too lazy to condition your hair just because it's complicated? With the rinse-out conditioner, you will feel like it's a piece of cake. All you have to do is apply it into your hair, leave it for a couple of minutes and then rinse it off. It takes care of your hair cuticles, safeguarding them from damage. Ideally, you can use this conditioner every day after shampooing.

For tangle-free and smooth hair, try the Head and Shoulders Smooth & Silky conditioner.

  3. Leave-in Conditioner:
  4. Thin, lightweight and non-sticky - these are the main features of this conditioner. It also moisturizes your hair quickly and gives it protection. If your hair is cuffed with tangles, the leave-in conditioner is all you need to think of.

  5. Deep Conditioner:
  6. As the name says, deep conditioners are used to condition your hair on a deep level. If your hair is damaged or dry, the deep conditioner is the one that can help you. It contains waxes and emulsifiers that can heal your hair.

We strongly suggest you to use our Anti-hairfall conditioner to repair your damaged hair.

Always remember that if you have oily hair, never seek this product, as it can make your hair look even more oilier.

It's a wrap! Hope this blog was helpful for you.
